PDA or personal digital assistant (an electronic handheld information device) with phone features that has the capability of sending and receiving email and connecting to the internet wirelessly. Cellular phones have come a long way from just a few short years ago when all you could do is make and receive phone calls. Why purchase a PDA? For starters it can hold all of your contacts information. You schedule appointments and have the PDA alert you before they happen. You can increase productivity by using the PDA to access your email and stay instantly connected. You can take videos or pictures and send them to someone instantly wirelessly. Even some businesses use them as credit card terminals and can print out contracts with them. Word processing can be done on PDAs. With the advent of the smartphone anything imaginable can be done on the PDA. With the introduction of the iPhone our understanding of what a PDA can do has changed. Just think of all of the hundreds of applications you can download into the iPhone which is the top selling PDA smartphone in the country today. There is an application for almost anything you could use. It is like carrying your laptop in your pocket. Now if the PDA smartphone is not for you then you can always purchase the traditional phone which still has many features that can enhance your life. The PDA also would cost more to use it since the phone will be connecting to the internet. Usually the phone will be required to have PDA plan before purchasing it and this plan is about $30 more each month on top of the regular price plan. If you can justify the cost and the PDA does fit your needs then this would be the right phone for you, if not then traditional phones are your best option. |
